What is VHL disorder?
The von Hippel-Lindau syndrome is a disease that is an inherited disorder that characterizes the formation of tumors and fluid-filled sacs. The X chromosome is affected by this disorder. Anyone can be affected by this disease. It is sex-linked because it is on the x chromosome.
Symptoms
Pheochromocytoma which is a small vascular tumor leading to these symptoms: High blood pressure, sweating,headache, etc. Or there is hemangioblastoma which is tumors in the body having these symptoms difficulty walking and difficulty using muscles.
Medical assistance needed and the long term outlook
The child will need a team of specialists. As they get older they will need surveillance for tumors and they will also need genetic counseling. The most common tumors will happen at age 33.
Where does it happen in your body?
You can get a tumor anywhere in your body. The most common places to get a tumor are Your mid body like your liver and stomach or you can get them in your eye or brain. The video below shows the vhl disease or tumor in the eye.

Cures
There is surgical removal, laser photocoagulation,radiation and cryotherapy. But there has not yet been a cure to prevent this disease.
