Miss Maudie's opinion:

Of the children she thinks Scout didn't understand the situation with mr.arthur. She also thinks Jem acted like his uncle. Her opinion of Atticus is hard worker. When she said "If Atticus Finch drank until he was drunk he wouldn't be as hard as some men are at their best."Of the town gossip miss Stephanie Crawford she doesn't trust her. Like when she said,"But while no one with a grain of sensetrusted miss Stephanie Crawford,..."Of the Radleys she thinks Boo(Arthur) was nice and kind outsidehis house but doesn't know what he does inside. Her opinion of parents of she thinks they may be crazy. What I think of miss Maudie is she tells the truth and doesn't beat around the bush.

Why has Harper Lee included Miss Maudie as a main character in the novel?

To have a relatable character for everyone to laugh at her humor and feel her pain.
