A Note from Principal Powell
It is hard to believe that we are at the midpoint of the semester. Remember that the TNReady pencil and paper test will be given March 14-18 and May 2-6. Please remind your child to be sure to do their very best on these assessments.
Our schoolwide ACT test for the Juniors will be given on April 19. We, as a school, are reviewing daily during our OVERTIME period with sample questions and test taking strategies to help all students do well on the ACT test. This test is required for college admission and higher scores mean more money for you and your children when they attend college.
We are also in the process of registering students for their classes for next year. Please keep in mind that the more difficult their classes are will also help them to prepare for the ACT test as well as college readiness. For most colleges the ACT score is more important than the G.P.A.
Please do not hesitate to contact your teachers or counselors if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Rick Powell
Course Selection and Registration
We build our master schedule based on the courses students request; thus we will be limiting schedule changes next year. We encourage students to pick their first choices and we also encourage parents to review and sign the student course selection verification sheet.
Please email your student's counselor for any questions regarding course selections.
