What We Are Doing This Week
Reading:
Monday: We will be doing some Halloween activities.
Costume Clues: (A reading and inferring activity) Students will be given clues and they have to write down what costume they think the clues are talking about.
Roll A Dice Pumpkin Decorating: Students will roll a dice and based on what they roll they will decorate their pumpkin.
This week we will be reading a wonderful story called "Stellaluna". This story is about a young bat that becomes lost from her family. As we go on this adventure with her, we come to know all the characters that we meets until she finally finds her family. We will be learning more about inferencing and synthesizing.
Inferencing: Taking what we have already learned from the story and what we know and talking about what we think is going to happen.
Synthesizing: starting with the smallest part, going to the next bigger part and until we see the whole picture and know what the story is all about.
Phonics:
Lesson 34 Floss Rule (When a one-syllable root wood has a short vowel sound, followed by the sound /f/, /l/, or /s/, it is usually spelled ff, ll, or ss.
Lesson 36 The Rule v-e (silent e at the end of the word makes the vowel long)
Lesson 37 Digraph 00
