- Grid practice
- Sentence Stems: Today we have _____wholes and ____ hundredths.
- Quality Questions: If I color ____square, what fraction of the grid will I be coloring in today?
- Begin plan on September 6th. Calendar, Counting Tape and Daily Decimal, Daily Depositor
- 2-D Anchor Chart- can use your new set of 2-D figures.
Number Talks- Has anyone been able to try? Great for mathematical discourse.

Unit 3: Whole Number Multiplication and Division How did the test go?
TEK Walk: Dana shared on Twitter about Greg Tangs idea to use part, part total, and only use part, part whole for fractions!
- Bar Model Sets- CPA Let me know if you need any more sets.
- We introduce variables, in equations and strip diagrams and bar models.
- Analyze given information to check for understanding and if answer is reasonable.
- Interpreting remainders- The remainder matters!
- Include one and two step problems
- Process or a relationship column in the middle( see example on p. 10)
- Reverse of the process as well.
- How many strategies do we want kids to own? Do kids need to see all the strategies at this time?
- Can use the problems on p. 10-11 for instruction.
- Hope they like the visual modelers. If you need more, I gave a couple to 3rd grade.
Unit 4 Fractions Test is November 8th. Preview assessment.
- Readiness- 4.3 D Compare two fractions with different numerators and denominators. 4.3E Represent and solve addition and subtraction of fractions with equal denominators using objects and pictorial models that build to the number line and properties of operations.
- Supporting- 5 TEKS.
- We compare 2 different fractions, with different numerators and denominators, but no longer have to order.
* Can we find some NearPod and/or Flocabulary activities for the students to use? :)
