- Open House for East Elementary first, second, third, fourth grade, and Encore will be held virtually on August 19. Videos will be created by teachers introducing themselves and the classroom to students and parents.
- East Elementary kindergarten will hold a face to face open house for families on August 20, 5:30-7:30 pm. Teachers will be in contact with families soon with more details. Families are asked to enter using the lower level door. Adults are required to social distance and wear a mask. During the brief meeting, students will drop off their school supplies, get their picture taken, receive their iPad, confirm transportation, and receive introductory paperwork. (Please no siblings or extended family.)
Ignite Online
- August 10 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
- August 14 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Returning students who chose Ignite Online will use the same device they had last year if they are a first, third, or fourth grade student. Second grade students should have exchanged their iPad for a Chromebook already. If not, we have them in the East office ready for pick up Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Parent Drop Off Procedures
Drop off time is from 7:15-7:50 am. Certified staff members will be on duty during this time. Students are dismissed to class at 7:50 am.
Enter at the second entrance (north entrance).
All K – 1st students should be dropped off in the lane closest to the building. (marked with yellow arrows)
All 2nd – 4th students should be dropped off in the lane farthest from the building. (marked with green arrows) If the 2nd-4th grader has a K-1st grade sibling, then they should be dropped off in the first lane.
It is also best to have your child seated on the passenger side of your vehicle. It is much easier and quicker for them to get out on the side closest to the building.
Be sure to pull all the way forward when dropping your child off (there is a thick white line and words that say STOP HERE to designate this area).
Say your goodbyes prior to getting in the lane.
Your child will exit the vehicle when you are within the drop zone (when lanes are separated by the concrete median).
Our goal is to move vehicle traffic as quickly as possible, so it will make things run more smoothly if you utilize the lanes to drop your child off.
Remain in your vehicle at all times when driving through the lanes. If your child needs assistance getting out of the vehicle, park in the parking lot.
Never park in the lanes. This is against fire code. If you want to walk your child to the front door, you are required to park in the parking lot. Also, avoid parking on the street.
The teachers on duty will direct traffic, so pay close attention to what they ask you to do.
If you no longer see a teacher on duty, you will need to park your vehicle in the parking lot, walk your child to the front door and push the buzzer. Most likely, the tardy bell has rung and you are required to sign them in.
K - 4th students will eat breakfast or go to their designated area until 7:50 am. (Kindergarten and 3rd grade in the gym, 1st grade in their common area, 2nd grade in their common area, 4th grade in their common area)
Our first priority is your children’s safety; therefore, please follow all of our drop off procedures.
Parent Pick Up Procedures
Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades
The dismissal bell will ring at 3:10 pm.
All K - 2nd students (and any 3rd - 4th siblings) will be dismissed in front of the building.
Enter at the second entrance.
Make sure to have your scan card with your child’s name and a photo ID. (New students to East will receive a scan card on the first day of school.)
All K – 1st students should be picked up in the lane closest to the building. (marked with yellow arrows)
All 2nd students should be picked up in the lane farthest from the building. (marked with green arrows) If the 3rd - 4th grader has a K - 2nd grade sibling, then they should be picked up in the same lane as the youngest sibling.
Be sure to pull all the way forward when picking up your child (there is a thick white line and words that say STOP HERE to designate this area).
Our goal is to move vehicle traffic as quickly as possible, so it will make things run more smoothly if you utilize the lanes to pick your child up. Many parents stand in the parking lot to pick their child up, which is okay, but our priority is to scan parents in vehicles first. Therefore, it will be quicker for parents to pick students up from the driving lanes.
Never park in the lanes. This is against fire code. If you want to get out of your vehicle for any reason you are required to park in the parking lot. Also, avoid parking on the street.
Remain in your vehicle at all times when driving through the lanes. If your child needs assistance getting in the vehicle, park in the parking lot.
Our first priority is your children’s safety; therefore, please follow all of our pick up procedures.
If there are any changes to your child’s dismissal plan, please call the office at 243-5271 by 2:00 pm.
3rd and 4th Grades:
The dismissal bell will ring at 3:10 pm.
All 3rd - 4th students will be dismissed in the back of the building. (If a 3rd - 4th student has a younger K - 2nd sibling, they will be picked up in the front of the building with the youngest sibling.)
Enter at the third entrance.
Make sure to have your scan card with your child’s name and a photo ID. (New students to East will receive a scan card on the first day of school.)
Be sure to pull all the way forward when picking up your child (where the sidewalk begins).
Our goal is to move vehicle traffic as quickly as possible, so it will make things run more smoothly if you utilize the lane to pick your child up.
Never park in the lane. This is against fire code.
We ask that you remain in your vehicle at all times when driving through the lane.
If your child needs assistance getting in the vehicle, park in the parking lot.
Our first priority is your children’s safety; therefore, please follow all of our pick up procedures.
If there are any changes to your child’s dismissal plan, please call the office at 243-5271 by 2:00 pm.
Walkers/Bike Riders:
These students will be dismissed at 3:20 pm. This time was selected to help ensure student safety. A majority of pick up traffic will be gone.
Students will be responsible for walking to our exit across from Diana Drive.
Students who are walking home or riding their bikes home are required to use the sidewalks.
If there are any changes to your child’s dismissal plan, please call the office at (573) 243-5271 by 2:00 pm.
Bus Students K - 4th Grade:
Buses will arrive to East Elementary at approximately 3:25 pm.
Certified staff will walk students to their buses.
It will take approximately 5-10 minutes to load the buses and for them to pull away from school.
Buses will use entrance/exit 3.
Vehicle traffic should only use entrance/exit 3 to pick up 3rd - 4th graders. All pick-up traffic should be out of this parking lot no later than 3:25 pm.
If there are any changes to your child’s dismissal plan, please call the office at 243-5271 by 2:00 pm.
