Hershey's Chocolate
Taking 18% of certified sourced cocoa to 100%.
Hershey's has pledged to stop child labor issues before 2020.
The marketable company that accounts for 5% of the world's cocoa supply has made a point to stop the unjust labor within the production of their beans. Hershey has worked with with "Rainforest Alliance" certified farms, and if you haven't seen the small frog seal that's changed the farming industry, here is what it looks like along with some information about it:
The Rainforest Alliance assures a consumer that whatever they're consuming is produced at the standards of the Sustainable Agriculture Network. Workers are given respect and are safe under these conditions. Hershey has worked previously with the Rainforest Alliance in 2012-2013, and will continue to do so.
Although a few companies have had a head start in this goal, Hershey is one of the biggest companies to makes this change other than Mars. The objective will be met in the coming years in hopes of stopping the injustice within the cocoa industry.
