A Message from Marcie
Hello, South Park!
We had a great week learning together at South Park. Thank you so much for your contributions over the past two weeks to the 109 Gives Back Food and Supply Drive. Our school's donations will make a tremendous difference in our community.
Earlier today, I spent some time outside at recess and was concerned to see that some students still did not come to school with coats, hats, or gloves. We encourage you to please send your children to school every day with appropriate clothing for outdoor play. Once we have an accumulation of snow, students are required to wear boots and snow pants if they want to play in the snow otherwise they will have to remain on the blacktop. We also recommend that you send an extra set of dry clothes to keep in school.
REMEMBER: We let kids go outside if the temperature/wind chill is 10 degrees or warmer and it is not raining or snowing too hard.
Finally, before you head into the weekend, please be aware that our typical SHIELD testing day was shifted from Thursday (yesterday) to today. We hope that the results will come back during the day tomorrow. Though no news is good news, because of the higher volume of districts using SHIELD Illinois for surveillance testing, it is taking longer than expected to get those results.
Have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!
-Marcie

We hope that families who choose to travel during the week of Thanksgiving will take advantage of the virtual conference structure and sign up for a time slot during our teachers' designated conference times.
