As you have probably noticed, our new library has really started to take shape from the outside, but what is it looking like from the inside? Check out the pictures below to see what it is starting to look like. We are looking at March to be able to move in!

SMS Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year

We are proud to congratulate our 2023 SMS Teacher of the Year Jill Strange! Jill teaches 8th Math at SMS and we are thankful for all she does for our kids at SMS!



We are also excited to announce that Carla Tesreau is our 2023 SMS Support Staff of the Year! Carla is our Diagnostic Secretary/Registrar at SMS. Her great attitude and sense of humor is contagious to all at SMS. Thanks Carla for all you do!

Fellowship of Christian Athletes After School Club

Tuesday, January 31st Mr. Perstrope will be holding the first Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meeting. This will be a student led and promoted group open to all! Meetings will be twice a month from 3:00 pm until 4:10 pm. If you have any questions or need more information, please reach out to Mr. Perstrope at perstroped@foxc6.org

SMS PTO

No School on February 7th - Teacher Professional Development

On Tuesday, February 7th there will be no school for students. Teachers will have professional development that day. Learning/training that day will include, NWEA data analysis, special education resources, data collection tool, and professional learning communities.

Cologne, perfume, or body spray

The spraying of cologne, perfume, or body spray at your locker or in the hallways is not permitted. This is a health issue as some students and staff members have asthma. This poses a danger to their health. Anyone caught spraying any of these things will be subject to discipline.

SMS Yearbook

Gaming Club

Join us every Thursday after school from 3:00 pm until 3:50 pm for SMS Gaming Club! Students will engage in Card/Board games that challenge their strategic skills. Games being played will include Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Magic, Chess, Pathfinders, Settlers of Catan and many others. There are NO electronic games allowed in Gaming Club. We want to teach kids to interact without their phones. Games teach students how to settle conflicts, how to take turns, how to have patience, and how to interact appropriately. No need to sign up beforehand, just show up and check in with Mrs. Wason and Mrs. Willard!
