Halo Highlight: First Week of School Schedule
Welcome Back, Saints!
As you know, the first day of school is Monday, Aug. 12. We will follow 8-period days all next week so students can get to know all of their teachers and classes for this new year; however, the days will vary slightly, so please click here to view next week's schedule. The warning bell will ring at 7:40 a.m., and first period begins at 7:45 a.m. each day. Dismissal is at 2:49 p.m. each day except Monday, when we will conclude with a pep rally in Krajicek Gym scheduled to end at 2:30 p.m. See you all on Monday morning!
**Any student who did not attend either Orientation day MUST report to the library no later than 7:15 a.m. on Monday to receive their computer and other important information.**

Tech Talk - Important Info for All Students
Students, please check your email including your Spam folder for a message from Mrs. LeJeune regarding instructions for downloading our 2 cloud drives before the first day of school. This is super important!
NEW PARENTS: During new student training, we explained to the students that they will not know how to do everything on the first day of school. What they will know how to do is to log into their accounts, find Moodle, and get to OneNote. If you missed the Parent EDU meeting regarding what your student learned during the two days of training, check out the presentation here.

Faculty News
New Teacher Spotlight - Band Director Amina Flore
We are very excited to spotlight the new faculty members who join the staff at St. Louis Catholic staff this school year! First in the series is newly hired band director Amina Flore, a spring 2019 graduate of McNeese State University:
Hometown? Orange, TX
Teaching Background? This will be my first year teaching. My prior experience was a semester of student teaching at S.P. Arnett Middle School in Westlake.
Favorite Quote? "Don't worry about labels, or conforming to a standard. Just be true to yourself and people will appreciate your honesty."
Favorite Foods? Cantaloupe, croissants, baby carrots, and little cuties (the small oranges).
What will we most likely find you doing on a weekend? My weekends consist of lounging around the comfort of my own home playing games, watching movies or doing something active such as going to a trampoline park. Occasionally swimming.
Where do you most hope to make an impact at St. Louis Catholic? I look forward to growing the band program and making the students successful in their musicianship and performance aspects.
