Harrison Happenings
April 27-May 1
This week in Room 300...
I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend! Here is a summary of what we will be up to this week:
Math: We will be learning about measurement and discussing the different types of measurement such as length, height, and weight.
Writing: We will begin practicing opinion pieces. That is one of our standards for writing in this final nine weeks.
Social Studies: We will learn about maps, features on a map, and how to read them. Students will have opportunities to create their own maps in class.
Guided reading: We will continue to practice fluency and comprehension in our groups.
Relay for Life on FRIDAY!
Relay for Life will be this Friday at the Wren High School Track! We have raised over $3,000 for the organization this year, and we would love to have some students out to support Spearman during this fun event. It will last from 7pm to 1am, but students and family can come at any time. You will be able to walk the track for Spearman, participate in fun activities, and purchase some of the treats to contribute to the cause!
If you would like to help even further, we need donations of 2 liter sodas (appropriate for an ice cream float), solo cups, and spoons. Spearman will be selling Coke floats as our fundraiser at the event, and we appreciate all the donations we can get!
Mother's Day Tea
The Mother's Day Tea is next Friday, May 8th. We have received lots of RSVPs, but we are still missing a few. It helps to know how many to plan for, so if you have not sent your RSVP, please send it in this week. We can't wait to celebrate our moms!
Reminders!
- Relay for Life: THIS Friday (7pm-1am)
- Mother's Day Tea: Friday, May 8th at 1:00pm
- We have had many students leaving jackets here and then not claiming them. Please write their names on the tags to ensure they go home with the correct child.
- Send in May snack money on Friday
