RMS Teacher of the Year!!

Congrats to Amber Steele as our RMS Teacher of the Year! Amber has a true love and passion to work with our students to help them grow and flourish! When she speaks, people want to listen as you know she has something important to say. Amber coaches cross country, girls basketball, and has an amazing way to connect and integrate with the students in the classroom. We are very grateful and blessed to have her as part of our RMS team.

To send notes to Coach Steele or any of our amazing teachers, please click HERE. Our entire teachers and staff have poured many hours into learning new technology, adapting to new teaching styles, new courses both in-person and virtually, and trying to create a healthy school environment for our kids. Hand written note cards are also much appreciated!

September Teacher of the Month

Riverwatch Middle School is blessed with "Simply the Best" staff. Please take a moment to nominate staff members that exhibit our philosophy of H3: Happy, Healthy and Hardy.

Attendance

If your virtual student was mistakenly marked absent prior to August 30, 2020, please DO NOT email the teacher or our attendance clerk. Attendance must be updated using this form. Please also note that virtual attendance is ONLY updated on Saturdays, so it may take up to two (2) weeks for any issues to be corrected.

Absence Correction Form

  • Please send all (face-to-face and virtual) attendance notes to the attendance clerk in the counseling office or you may email them to krusso81@forsyth.k12.ga.us.
  • Virtual participation/attendance is taken weekly and updated over the weekend. Please check updated attendance records on Mondays. Please notify your teacher if attendance records do not appear to be accurate.
  • Please note that attendance through FVA is based on work completion, so if a student is marked absent but subsequently completes the missing work, the attendance record can be updated.

Course Information Event

We are unable to host Curriculum Night as we have in the past, so in an effort to share information with families about this school year, we will instead host a Course Information Event. Videos created by each grade level content team of teachers will be posted the week of September 28 and will be available all week for viewing. In these videos, teachers will provide an overview of the course curriculum, some information about specific expectations, and will answer questions submitted by you! Please use this link to ask any questions you would like teachers to answer, and we will do our best to answer as many as possible during the brief videos teachers will create.

Lunch/Breakfast Cafe Information

All students "in-person" have been provided a laminated card to purchase food in the cafe. The card allows the student to scan their code to eliminate the need to type in their student numbers. It is important that the students hold on to their cards to keep the process safe and efficient. Students may want to get a "badge" holder or lanyard that would clip on the inside of their backpack or elsewhere.

Families can now download and customize the Riverwatch MealViewer App from the School Nutrition page on our school website. This App allows you to identify any food allergies your child may have and see a months worth of menu choices at a glance for both breakfast and lunch. Try it today!
