Located in the eastern side of Texas!!!
A 54,400 square mile area with some places receiving over 60 in. of rainfall in 1 year. Many threats to this area consists mostly of timber wood and commercial forest.

Flora
Loblolly and Shortleaves are 2 of the many types of pines in this area. Prickly pined cactus and yucca can also be found in forests and wetlands.
Fauna
Many animals call the piney woods ecoregion their home, here are a few examples; North American Cougars, Bobcats, Cotton Tail Rabbits and Louisiana Black Bears

The biggest reserve in this are is the Big Thicket National Preserve has been named a globally important bird area.
Outdoor Activities
While visiting this very massive ecoregion full of pine tress the first thing that would come to mind would be to hike. Another fun activity with family or by yourself is to go canoeing. If you just simply want to enjoy yourself you could camp.
