TIPS TO REMEMBER
Memory Improvement Techniques and Tips
WAKE UP!
Keep your body and your brain active and in shape. Remember that your brain is as much as a muscle as any other and requires exercise. A way to keep your brain healthy is to do word searches, puzzles, read a book, or do a few simple math problems. We all know ways to keep our body in shape but we don't always do them but taking the extra stairs or walking 30 minutes a day can help you to reach your potential. A little can go a long way!
MAKE A SCHEDULE YOU WILL FOLLOW
We have all had those nights right before a final exam that we didn't prepare for until only a few days earlier, those are stressful and simply aren't fun. If you want less stress like this you should pull together a study session that gives you enough time to process information. You study information to learn so don't let it decay!
SLEEP
There is no simpler way to say it. Our brains and bodies need sleep as fuel to function day in and day out. Getting sleep should be a priority because it helps us to recall memories when we need them. Chunking information is a process that requires categorizing and characterizing information so that we remember it easier. That is why we need sleep to help us to recharge and consolidate memories that we had that day so the less sleep the less time the brain has to do all this important stuff!
ORGANIZE YOUR LIFE
It isn't easy finding an essay that you need for the day's assignment when it could be mixed in with a hundred other different papers or stuffed in the bottom of your backpack. To make your life a lot easier you could keep a diary, notebook, or use the calendar on your phone because that is what they are for. Use all these tools to plan out special tasks or appointments you need to have mapped out. Make a to do list so you don't get overwhelmed and set off certain folders or sections of your notebook for a specific type of files or documents.
