How to classifly a monocot plant

You can classify a monocot by how many petales(multiples of 3 petals) it has,also by the leaves the leaves are long and slinder with parellel vains. Monocots stems have messy/unorganized vascular tubes. Monocots have 1 food storage area.


1.Look at the leaves to make sure the leaves are long and slinder and has parellel vains.

2. Next look at the petals make sure they are multiples of 3.Be careful some might of blown off, eaten by a bug or died.

3. Next look at the stem cut the stem open get a magnafying glass and look to see if it's messy/unorganised.

You classify a dicot by how many petals it has (multiples of 4 or 5) it has,also by the leaves the leaves are usally wide with branching vains.Dioct stems have vascular tubes in circular bundles like flowers in a bundle.Dioct has 2 food storage areas.

1.Look at the leaves make sure they are wide with branched vains.

2.Next look at the petals make sure they are in multiples of 4 or 5.Be careful some could of blown off,eaten by a bug or died.

3.Next look the stem cut it open get a magnifying glass and look to see if its organized/neat.
