Virtual Learning Academy Newsletter

February 2021

Dear Families,

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable break. Teachers have been working hard on report cards as we just concluded the 2nd trimester. Please expect to receive report cards in mid-March.

There have been questions regarding the possibility of returning to face to face instruction in the Gilroy Unified School District. We do not have a date on when we will return yet. There is a committee who is working diligently to prepare for reopening. The committee is working in accordance with directives from the California Public Health Department and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department. Please keep reading updates from Superintendent Flores. The last update can be found here:

Before our Winter break I sent a parent survey out to all Virtual Learning Academy parents to gather feedback regarding our VLA program this school year. I sent a similar survey to VLA staff members to gain their perspective as well. The Virtual Learning Academy is new to GUSD this year and we would like to review all VLA stakeholders perspectives on Calvert and their interest in the program as a possibility for next school year. The survey closed yesterday, Monday, February 22nd. If you have not completed the survey, please email me.
