Blowing into Fall
As the Days Get Shorter, the Work Begins to Pick Up
Expect the Expected
Now that we have launched our Time For Kids units, we have reached our full curriculum implementation schedule. This includes weekly readings of TFK or other fiction materials, word study, daily science or social studies, as well as reading groups and other language arts work. This week we will be finishing up our first published writing piece, turning in our travel brochures, launching our biographies unit, taking a TFK quiz, taking a word study quiz, and learning how to send formal emails to our parents. (Disclaimer: you do not have to agree to what your child asks in the email for them to receive full credit!)
Picture Day on Thursday!
I have chosen the 8 a.m. slot to get our pictures before snack, recess and PE on Thursday. If you know your child will miss Thursday morning, you can still get retakes when that day comes around later this year. Forms for pictures went home last week.
Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-Up
I have created a sign-up Genius to make choosing your time for the Parent-Teacher conferences. I ask that you bring your child as well. The first part of the meeting we will talk with them and the second we will talk privately. You may find the link here.
