Help Needed ASAP - Lip Sync 5th Grade Act
As of now, we haven't heard from any parent(s) interested in coordinating the 5th grade act. Unfortunately, if we do not have any volunteers, we will be unable to offer this performance. You can team up with a few parents to coordinate!
5th grade finale volunteer responsibilities include:
- Choosing the song and choreography for a simple performance.
- Coordinating and scheduling practices with the 5th teachers. (# of practices based on your preference; preferably no more than 2-3). Practices held during lunch recess.
- Communicate performance information to the committee.
If you have any questions or are interested, please contact Gina Rothenberger ASAP at gmrothenberger@gmail.com. Thank you!
Home & School Meeting
Babysitting will be provided!
We will be voting on whether or not to change our bylaws with regards to when we vote for our elected officers. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this very important meeting.
Save the date! Mrs. Lightstone will give a presentation about Children's Literature at our February 12 meeting.
DVD Literacy
DVD Literacy is a program offered by Vernfield's Home and School Association. Each year, each student that participates is recorded reading part of a favorite book and asked several questions about their school experience. At the end of their 5th grade year, the students will receive a DVD with their recordings from each year on it.
If you have not yet signed a permission form for your child (it only needs to be done once), a copy will be sent home in your child's communicator or you can find it online here (see also permission letter).
The DVD Literacy committee needs volunteers to help record the students during the school day. No experience necessary! If you are interested in volunteering, please email Amy Thompson at amybeth_g@yahoo.com.
Lip Sync
Please save the date for our annual Lip Sync event, which will be held on Friday, March 9th at Indian Crest Middle School. Permission forms, volunteer forms, and 5th grade Cover Contest forms were sent home this week in your child's Communicator. Forms are due by Friday, January 26th!
