Trolley Run Information

Trolley Run training will begin on March 2nd. We meet after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays to run together after school. The kids will need to be picked up on Mondays but can ride the activity bus home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please see the attached page for more information. Core Studies


This week we had our next big deadline where students are writing their PRO and CON Rough Drafts while revising their Works Cited Document for resubmission.

This deadline was Wednesday, February 12th by midnight. This is another assessment grade, so I have been stressing to all students to not miss this major deadline. I would rather students turn in something than nothing at all otherwise I am forced to enter zeros. If your student did not submit in time, they will be docked 10% from their grade each day (including weekends) it is late until it reaches zero. Please encourage them to submit as soon as possible.

Next week, we are going to focus on Rebuttals and how that is a good argumentative strategy in debates.


This week in science we completed our Seasons Project. I was VERY impressed with the hard work the kids did, however, I still have 16 kids who did not turn in their project. We ended the week working on a study guide for the Seasons Test next week. Our test will be Wednesday, February 19th - fingers crossed for no snow days. We will begin the moon phases next Thursday.


We began working with one-step equations this past week. Next week we are going to continue working with one-step equations, but put more of an emphasis on word problems and writing the equations. Right now in math, it is all about the practice to make sure we find correct inverse operations. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Social Studies

Students are finishing up their last pieces of the Immigration Inquiry. Students will begin their final assessment project next week. The project will include each student creating an Immigrant Journal. Students will create an immigrant profile, make choices for their person, and write a 3 day journal of their experiences as an immigrant to the USA. They will pull evidence from their inquiry study on the topic.


Pre-Algebra students have been working on graphing linear equations and slope this week. We will continue more about both graphing and writing linear equations next week! We also did our practice MAP testing this week.

Applied Technology

World Language

Baskervillle: Bonjour! We are learning French. Please encourage your students to teach you what they are learning - greetings, numbers, and colors.

Computer Literacy

Sixth graders are currently finishing up a collaborative letter using Google Docs. They will take a quick assessment on Google Docs next week before we move on to Slides and Sheets. There are only THREE WEEKS left in the third quarter!
