Pricipal's Message

Beachmont Families,

I can't believe that we have been back in school for over a month! Time is flying and incredible things are happening in the classrooms at Beachmont. Teachers have established structures, strategies, and routines that will allow all students to flourish. We are all grateful to have students back in the building!

On Monday, September 13th, we hosted our Virtual Meet the Teacher Night. I hope this gave parents an opportunity to learn about their child's classroom and get to know their child's teachers. Here is a link to the Principal's Welcome Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXoByVCfvsU&t=3s. Do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teachers if you have questions and/or concerns throughout the year. Email is typically the best mode of communication.

On Thursday, September 16th we hosted our first Parent Coffee. This was well attended and gave parents an opportunity to ask questions. We are looking at October 21st for our next Principal's Coffee to be hosted in the school cafeteria. All are welcome!

Finally, I hope to make sure all families are receiving information that goes out. My primary way of communicating will be through Class Dojo. Please click this link to sign up: https://www.classdojo.com/invite/?s=4eece6e4f64aa62934ed8b18

It's a great day to be a bee!

Health and Safety Reminders

To ensure that everyone remains safe in school, parents must remember the following:

  • Do a daily wellness check daily. Do not send your child to school if he or she have symptoms of illness. These include fever, cough, sore throat or any other symptoms on the daily checklist.

  • Do not give medication to reduce fever or cough for the purpose of sending your child to school.

  • Masks should be child-sized and fit properly. We have child cloth masks available to send home. Let your child’s teacher or the nurse know if you would like some.

  • Please reinforce the importance of masking wearing and distancing at home.

The Four Bees Kick Off

On Friday, September 17th we did our Beachmont Four Bees Kickoff. The purpose of the Four Bees Program at the Beachmont School is to foster a physically and emotionally safe school environment where all students strive to become their best selves. This is modeled after a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. Through partnerships with staff, students, and families, we will be accountable for ensuring that all students are RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, SAFE, and KIND. Working together, we will achieve this by explicitly teaching social competencies and reinforcing consistent expectations across all settings. As a result, Beachmont scholars will become responsible citizens who contribute to their communities and are valuable members of society.

Students will be recognized for making the right decisions and choices. There will be school-wide celebrations/events that recognize students that consistently make the correct choice. Grade level teams will create a point system that is transparent to both families, students, and administration. If students meet the “point value” for a given celebration, they will be able to participate. For those students that do not yet meet the determined point value, they will participate in a Tier 2 activity, supported by staff, where they will set goals and reflect on ways to consistently make positive choices.

We look forward to supporting all Beachmont Bees!
