Raven Masson
Yurusti - Costa Rica exchange trip
In the beginning, Raven was placed in a sixth grade classroom due to limited space in fifth grade; she was struggling a bit because students in Yurusti are in their last month of class, thus she was doing almost 7th grade work. Thankfully, we were able to find a spot for her in fourth grade and she's doing much better.
Raven has adjusted well with her host family. She loves her Costa Rican sister, Natalia. They've gone on lots of adventures together and have bonded as sisters. Her host mom says she isn't afraid to try new foods and eats everything. She had the Rice and Beans with coconut, that is typically served in the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, in addition to the more traditional "Gallo Pinto." Not all of our ambassadors have been so willing to try all the foods offered to them here. She is getting a lot out of this experience and I'm sure she will share it all with you when she gets home.
