MNMS Distance Learning Information
November 16, 2020
Please remember to report all exposures/close-contacts, quarantines, isolations and/or positive cases to us at COVID19@mustangops.org. This will be vitally important during this time of Distance Learning so that we can keep a pulse on our local data and make well-informed decisions about our return to in-person schooling.
Transitioning to Distance Learning
On 11/16/2020, our MNMS Distance Learning Plan will go into effect. This newsletter contains the information you will need if your student will be engaging in the online distance learning option, or if they will be using the offline (paper copies) distance learning option. We understand that there will be questions as we make this transition. If, after reading this newsletter you still have questions, please fill out the google form linked at the bottom of the newsletter. Please provide accurate and up-to-date contact information so that someone from our staff can get back to you with assistance.
We ask for your patience, your grace, and your understanding as we work together through this together. Our staff will be working hard to make the most of the circumstances and continue to uphold our mission of ensuring high levels of learning for all, even from a distance. Thank you for your continued support!
November 16, 17, 18 - "Go Packets"
Online Learning Plan - Beginning Thursday, November 19
Assignments: This option provides a near-seamless transition into distance learning as students will simply log on to their Canvas platform each day, watch any instructional videos posted, and complete and submit the assigned activities for each class. They can expect to spend a minimum of 20-30 minutes on each course per day, Monday through Friday. All completed assignments will be submitted via Canvas. Teachers will communicate with students through Canvas as well.
Teacher Availability: Beginning, Thursday, November 19, teachers will follow the schedule listed below to have a Google Meet with each of their classes. Students will access the code to the Meets in their teachers' Canvas. Additional Google Meets may be scheduled as needed by teachers to provide further instruction and/or answer questions. Teachers will then be available from 12:45 - 3:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday to take parent/student phone calls/emails to answer questions and provide learning support. Wednesdays are reserved for professional development and planning for the following week.
Student Schedule: Students will be expected to follow the schedule below via Google Meet with their teachers Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The Google Meet codes are below. Students will also be able to see the code to join the Google Meet in each of their teachers' Canvas. Students will follow their regular school schedule using the following times:
1st Hour: 9:30 am - 9:45 am
2nd Hour: 9:50 am - 10:05 am
