Celebrating Literacy Week 2020!
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Literacy is integrated into all curriculum programming at Southview Public School, each and every day. In addition to our regular literacy programming, our school is planning several additional activities to celebrate Literacy Week 2020: Monday, January 27th to Thursday, January 30th. Family Literacy Day is Monday, January 27th, 2020.
#GetCaughtReading ~ Snap a picture of your family reading and post to Twitter using this hashtag. Be sure to tag @Southview_LDSB so we can retweet.

- Whole School Reading Buddies! Kids will be paired up to read with a buddy from another class.

Write Now -A writing prompt will be given a to classes to create their own 'mad lib' activity. Selected classes will read over the PA announcements.
Wednesday, January 29th
- NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS - job action day
- Bell Let's Talk Day
Thursday, January 30th
- PJ day -Students are encouraged to wear their favourite pajamas. Classes will sign up with their buddy class to come to the library where we will have a reading campout
- Whole School Book Exchange: Classes will be invited to come down to the front foyer throughout the day to select a book to take home.
Please note that not all classes will not necessarily participate in all of the above activities, and that there may be other class-specific, special literacy week activities planned throughout the week.
Happy Literacy Week to All!
