Through Our Eyes
Meet Mrs.Williams
Welcome our new Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Williams! She came to us from Timbercreek High School teaching 12th grade. She came to Glenridge because her husband became a coach for the UCF Men's basketball team. She compares Glenride to her old school as interesting in how the three age groups are so different in their maturity levels. Her favorite things about Glenridge is her colleageus and the schools administration. We asked why did she choose Language Arts for teaching and she said, " I think its one of the most important subject that you can carry with you for the rest of your life."

Locks of Love with John
Locks of Love is a non-profit organization. They are well known for their courteous donations to children with loss of hair, due to diseases and severe illnesses. This organization collects hair and monetary donations, but are mostly known for their hair donations. These donation change the lives of many children located in Canada & the United States. Little did we know, our own 7th graders would be one to do so. John, carrying 24-inches of hair decided to donate some of his locks on Feb. 20th of this year. "I donated because it feels great to do something for unfortunate people, especially kids my age." he states. After waiting a long 3 months to donate, John ended up satisfied with his new cut and his decision. Give to something to someone that they are unfortunate to have "I encourge anyone that has thought about donating to do so you wont regret it!" There you have it, a perfect example of striving to do something and Succeeding.

Glenridge Symphonic Band MPA
What is MPA?
MPA stands fro Music Performance Assessment. It is basically an FCAT test for band. The whole symphonic band plays three prepared songs and two sight reading songs. Sight reading is when you receive a song that you are unfamiliar with and after five minutes of reviewing it, you play the prepared songs followed by the sight reading songs before the judge.
For eight whole years in a row, the Glenridge Symphonic Band received a superior, or the highest score possible. As you can see, our symphonic band has a LOT of pressure this year.
