Red Storm Forecast Stonybrook IA/MS

Week of: September 30th

Message from Mr. Smith

Dear Stonybrook Families,

We have officially completed one quarter of the school year. Next week is the last week before fall break and we want to end this quarter with Civility, Order, Respect and Excellence. So far we have shared many experiences with our students and families. We have had a roller skating party, math and literature family fun night, the 6th grade girls discovered careers in science, technology, math and engineering at IUPUI, and our 8th graders visited the fair grounds to experience career possibilities. This is just the beginning of a wonderful school year full of learning, plays, musicals, athletic events, guest speakers and so much more.

Jason Smith, Principal

Fall Parent/Teacher Conference Day

High Ability Program

Warren's High Ability Program is designed to meet the unique academic needs of gifted and talented students. The curriculum in these classes is differentiated and faster paced and students will be working above grade level if they qualify. As a district, we look at all students in grades 1, 4, 6 and 8 to see if they qualify for the following school year based on eligibility criteria. Parent recommendations are considered along with achievement scores when determining placement in high ability. More detailed identification information can be found here. If you would like to complete a recommendation for the broad based planning committee to consider you can do so here 2020-2021 High Ability Parent Recommendation Form The parent recommendation form will be open until January 31, 2020.
