September 18, 2023
Dear Families,
Congrats to our very own PV Panther, 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Cyndee Gordon, for being named a 2023 Franklin Education Foundation Exceptional Educator winner. Also a big congrats to PV nominees Mrs. Michel and Mrs. Kaun on their nominations! We are lucky to have many exceptional educators at Pleasant View and it’s always nice to have our educators recognized for their work!
We know the first weeks are a little slower moving with after school dismissal as we get students into routines. All of our bus routes, with the exception of Route 85, are running on time unless we are notified elsewise. We are working with GoRiteway to figure out why Bus route 85 is continuously late and will communicate any further information we receive. Parents, please keep helping us with making the parent pick up line as efficient and safe as possible by paying attention, pulling all the way forward to the first open spot, and working with your child to be as independent as possible in getting in and out of the vehicle. We want everyone to be safe, while also getting everyone into and out of school in a timely manner.
Sincerely,
Ashley Imperiale, Principal

BUS REQUESTS
Now that we are into the school year and regular busing routines are being established, we want to share details with families on what to expect regarding busing moving forward.
If any changes are needed to your child’s busing or you are looking to add busing for a child that currently does not ride the bus, those requests must be made through this Bus Route Change/Addition Request Form.
In regards to requests, please first review the Administrative Rules for FPS School Board Policy #3720 - Student Transportation. These rules are written in an effort to keep structure and safety for all of our students and we follow these rules when reviewing requests.
In partnership with GO Riteway, we do our best to establish bus stops following these administrative rules and requests for a stop immediately in front of a home may not be honored due to a variety of factors.
We are not able to honor requests to bus a student from one school to another for extracurricular activities.
If you have any concerns with your child’s transportation, please continue to contact Heidi Engel, FPS Auxiliary Services Coordinator (414-525-7634). She is working with GO Riteway to respond to family needs.

UPDATE TO CLASSROOM SNACKS
Please remember to pack daily snacks for your students. Snacks allowed in classrooms must follow the District Wellness Policy, meaning that your student may choose to bring in fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, or yogurts unless teacher or nurse discretion warrants further limitations. Specific examples include fresh fruit, applesauce pouches, fruit cups, raisins, carrots, celery, peppers, string cheese, cheese cubes, deli meats, and meat sticks.
New this year: Pretzels, popcorn, and goldfish crackers are also approved snacks. As we have many students with peanut and tree nuts allergies in all buildings, snacks that contain nut products (e.g. peanut butter pretzels) will not be permitted in classrooms. Some safe brands to consider for added snack options include Skinny Pop, Annie's, Snyder's, Smartfood, Pepperidge Farm, and Pretzel Crisps.
FHS ATHLETIC EVENTS REMINDER FOR YOUNGER FANS
As a reminder for our high school athletic events, students from the elementary and middle school attending any FHS athletic events must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/caregiver. Students that come to the event without an accompanying parent/guardian/caregiver will not be admitted to the event. Students who need redirection regarding their behavior at any FHS athletic events will be brought back to their parent/guardian/caregiver. Thank you for helping us do what we can to keep our events enjoyable for all fans and focused on the athletic endeavors of our players.
PANTHER PROWL RUN/WALK
Our first Panther Prowl fun run/walk event is next week, Tuesday, September 26th. Students will bring home a packet this week to collect any pledges and they should return it back to school on September 26th.
Interested in helping? We would appreciate parent volunteers to help with the event. Sign up here!
Students are encouraged to wear something for their grade color as part of the event: 4K: Red Kindergarten: Orange 1st Grade: Yellow 2nd Grade: Green 3rd Grade: Blue 4th Grade: Pink/Purple 5th Grade: Rainbow/Tie Dye
We are excited to share that Sendiks has donated healthy food options for an after-run/walk snack.
We are excited to let you know that we are working on a 2023- 2024 Pleasant View Directory for all of the families in our school! This is completely optional, if you do not want your child’s information shared in the directory you do not need to include it. Here is the link for the form that you need to fill out if you want your child’s information included. Pleasant View Directory Form . Please fill out one form for each child. This form needs to be completed by Friday September 22. We will sort the responses by grade level and send out the completed directory as a google sheet.
