Parent Survey- today is the final day!
We value our families and the experience they have at Ixonia School. It's that time of year to provide us feedback and how we are doing! It is important to gather feedback from you to celebrate successes and identify areas for growth. These results are used in planning our building goals. Please take a few minutes and complete this Parent Satisfaction Survey to help provide this feedback.
The survey can be accessed online at: OASD Parent Satisfaction Survey by the end of the day (https://huron.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5vRsVeTuPMcOPAN).
Thank you for your time!

Post Office Unit~
Once again, Ixonia teachers will be participating in a post office unit, designed to help students learn how to write and send letters. From February 14 - March 5, students in 5K-4th grade will write their assigned school "pen pal" two letters.
Parents are encouraged to take part in this lesson!
Please consider writing a letter to your own child and sending it to the school, either through the mail or by dropping it off. Please include child's grade level and teacher's name on the envelope. We know the children have fun learning about letter writing and are absolutely thrilled when they receive mail. Help us make this an exciting experience by participating at home! Thank you!

Birthday and Half-Birthday Treats
Please keep reading all labels with a careful eye. Many items that come from a grocery store bakery are not safe. To make things more confusing, some stores (like Pick n Save and Piggly Wiggly) are not including allergy information on their labels. When we see that, our only option is to act as if those items are not safe and cannot be shared.
If you choose to make your child's birthday treat at home, you will need to provide us with ingredient labels before it can be shared. There are many safe cake mixes, frostings and sprinkles out there, but also, many that are not. Watch for items that may be manufactured in a facility that also uses peanuts or tree nuts.
If you'd like to avoid this issue all together:
- Walmart's bakery has a nice selection of items labeled peanut-free. Look for the crossed out peanut right on the packaging.
- Sodexo is now providing birthday treats. You can place your order directly through the food company and they'll deliver it to your student's classroom.
- Fruits and Vegetables are an excellent choice! Healthy and fun!
- Non-food items are also always a big hit!
Thank you for all you do to keep all Ixonia students safe! We all appreciate your efforts!

SUBSTITUTE Paraprofessionals Needed!
- Paraprofessionals are paid staff, people who are willing to help students learn in a variety of subjects, to help supervise lunch and recess and to support teachers in countless other ways.
- Paraprofessional positions are perfect for moms or dads who would like to earn money but might not be ready or able to work on a full time basis.
- If you would like to hear more about what a paraprofessional does - or are interested in submitting information to become a paraprofessional sub, the process is simple. Please read the attachment below.
