Components of Fitness
David Porter
Cardiovascular Endurance
My picture symbolizes Cardiovascular Endurance because cardiovascular endurance is the ability of the heart, lungs and blood vessels to deliver oxygen to your body tissues. I have a picture of lungs to represent that.
Flexibility
My picture represents flexibility because flexibility is the quality of bending easily without breaking. In the picture, the lady is doing a yoga pose. While doing this she is bending her back without breaking it.
Body Composition
Body composition is basically muscle vs. fat inside of ones body. The picture is a picture of what fat looks like therefore representing body composition. The picture is also talking about losing weight which is the goal for body composition.
Muscular Strength
Muscular strength means high force and low repetition. My picture is a body builder lifting heavy weights. My guess is that because of how heavy the weights are that he wouldn't lift them a lot. And that fits the definition of high force and low repetition.
Muscular Endurance
Muscular endurance is the opposite of muscular strength. It means low force high repetition. My picture is a person lifting small weights (low force) and my assumption is that he's going to lift the weights a lot of times because of its low weight. This fits the definition of low force, high repetition.
Agility
Agility is the ability to be quick and graceful. I'm showing somebody doing a drill that requires being quick and graceful. Therefore this is a representation of agility.
Balance
Balance is basically being able to keep oneself from falling. One activity often associated with balance is a walking on a tight rope or balance beam. My picture is someone walking on a tight rope and it represents balance because the goal is to keep yourself from falling.
Coordination
Coordination is when multiple parts of ones body is used to accomplish one task. For example, juggling. Juggling requires coordination between the eyes and hands to perform which is why this is a representation of coordination.
Power
Power is the ability to do something or act in a particular way. My picture is Bruce Lee in a strong position ready to do something. And even though he's not doing anything but posing, he still posses the power to do something at any time.
Reaction Time
Reaction time is self explanatory, basically meaning the time it takes to react to something. Reaction time is a huge part of baseball which is why I chose this picture. They have to react quickly in order to hit the baseball.
Speed
Speed is when you do/perform something quickly. In the picture the female is running which is common with speed. Speed is used in races of any type, especially running, and it look like she's training for one.
