Send all children to school with coats, mittens, and boots when necessary.

Mesa staff have been working with law enforcement and our district to help relieve the number of cars on Lowell at dismissal time to help ensure the safety of children and adults.
Beginning October 27:
2:42 dismissal for grades 2-5 in back of the school
Students in grade 2-5 will be dismissed at 2:42 from their classroom in the back of school and will exit through the back gate onto Highland Place.
Students who need to cross Highland Place will use the crosswalk.
Adult supervision will be provided.
Students in grades 2-5 with a sibling in K-1 AND they walk home: the K-1 student will be released at 2:42 to meet their older sibling and exit out onto Highland Place.
Students in grades 2-5 with a sibling in K-1 AND are picked up in a car will walk through the school and exit out the front door and wait for younger sibling and family member by the picnic tables
Bus students will meet in the library and will walk as a group to the front of school to the bus
2:45 dismissal for Kindergarten and 1st grade in front of the school
Kinder students will need to be picked up by a family member who is walking or driving and has parked legally in the parking lot or in the neighborhood
Families must cross Lowell at the crossing light at the south entrance of the parking lot
Students walking with an older sibling will exit out the back onto Highland Place
Preschool dismissal remains the same
After school program students continue to exit through the hallway and walk to the gym
We will help students learn the new dismissal procdedure.
