S'more Thinking = S'more Learning......at Grandview!
WELCOME BACK!
Welcome back to another amazing school year! We are off to a great start. There's no doubt this year will be full of learning and excitement. It's a privilege to lead this great school. I look forward to our partnership this year.
Each Friday afternoon, you will receive through email an electronic newsletter of our Mustang Messenger. Some information will remain all year, while other information will be included as necessary. We love to communicate and celebrate with our families and the community. This is a great way to stay informed.
Your Proud Principal,
Mrs. Michelle Barsh

PARENT CURRICULUM NIGHT - Tuesday, September 12 - 6:00pm-7:15pm
It is very important that all parents/guardians attend their child’s Parent Curriculum Night. This is a chance to meet your child’s teacher and learn about the curriculum. While we encourage you to find other arrangements for your child, Grandview students only can have the opportunity to be supervised on the playground upon check in. This is not a time for students to visit classroom or parent-teacher conferences.
Parking is always limited at Grandview. Please walk or carpool if possible. If not, feel free to use the High School Parking lot and enter the building through the back door.
Here's the evening:
6:00pm-6:15pm Short presentation by Mrs. Barsh in the gym
6:20-6:45pm - Session 1 your child's classroom
6:50pm-7:15pm - Session 2 in your second child's classroom if this applies
MORNING DROP OFF REMINDERS
Back of the school:
Please stay in the middle as you pull forward for your child to exit.
Please make sure your child exits your car on the side closest to the building. They should not walk around your car. This is for their safety. Also remember, you may not park in the back of the building and walk your children in. Let’s all keep our kids safe!
AFTERNOON PICK UP REMINDERS
Our wonderful staff is working hard to help your children get into their cars safely. Please be patient as we all learn routines. Safety always wins!
Parent walk up:
Because safety is first, those using parent walk up will greet their students OUTSIDE the North door on the sidewalk. Students will exit the building with a staff member by grade level and meet you. New this year, we will not have parents walk through the building and exit the front door. This is for the safety of all. Please help our fellow Grandview families so that together we can learn this routine. Thank you for your continued support!
JOB OPPORTUNITY
Substitute Noon Aides are needed. This job involves supervising children in the lunch room and on the playground from 11:30am-1:00pm. Please stop in at the office to get an application if you are interested. You would need to be fingerprinted (approximately $70 cost).
VOLUNTEER IN THE LIBRARY
Mrs. Piontek, our Librarian, is looking for consistent help in the Library. If you are able to volunteer an hour of your time each week to re-shelving books and other Library tasks, please click here and fill out this form or send a note to school with your name and contact information.
EMERGENCY CARDS
It is VERY IMPORTANT that Emergency Cards are filled out completely, both sides, and returned to school! Please make sure to print neatly and include your home and cell phone number and email address as well as at least 3 additional local emergency contacts listed in the order you would like them contacted. Please make sure those contacts know you have listed them as an emergency contact. We will not release your child from the office to anyone not listed on the emergency card. Anyone picking up your child at the office must show a photo identification in order for them to be released. Thank you!
BOX TOPS
Now is the time to turn in all of the Box Tops you have saved over the summer including all of the Back to School Bonus Box Tops. Please send them to school in a baggie and give them to your child’s teacher. The class will the most Box Tops collected will win a prize!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BOX TOPS VOLUNTEER!
Please let the office know if you can volunteer your time to count Box Tops. THANK YOU!
VOLUNTEERING AT SCHOOL
If you are interested in volunteering at school you need to complete an iChat form (available in the office) and submit a copy of your driver’s license for a quick background check. Thank you!
FREE OR REDUCED LUNCH FORMS
If you qualify for the free or reduced lunch program, you must complete a new form every year. Even if your child was eligible last year, you must complete a new form by Sept. 15. Forms were sent home with every child on the first day of school and are available on the district website.
