TCPS 8th Graders Visit JR Achievement of the Eastern Shore's JA Inspire!
TCPS 8th grade students traveled to the JA Inspire event on Wednesday, March 15th. JA Inspire is a combination of both classroom-based instruction and an event-based career expo at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury, Md. Over 100 companies representing local high-wage and high-demand careers, along with Eastern Shore colleges and universities, trade schools, apprenticeship programs and CTE programs participated in the event, shared advice and engaged students with interactive exhibits. We thank Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore for organizing the event and partnering with TCPS to bring opportunities to our students!
World Down Syndrome Day!
Every year on March 21, people worldwide celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Socks were chosen because Ds chromosomes' karyotype looks like mismatched socks! Join us and wear your mismatched socks on Tuesday!
