Slavery
Slavery played a major part in the civil because the north and the south had different perspectives about slavery. The north wanted to abolish slavery because they felt that it was cruel and unusual punishment to people. However, the south felt that they heavily needed slavery to support their economy. Thus creating conflict.
States' Rights
States' rights played a art because the north and the south both argued about their beliefs viewing their rights. The south felt that their states did not need anyone to tell them how to control themselves because their economy was not a government based economy. On the other hand, the north felt differently because they had a factory/industrial economy which gave them much government assistance.
