Kiest scholars performed La Raspa dance at the Dallas Public Library event to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
Hill Visits University of North Texas
87 Hill Highlanders made the journey to Denton, TX to tour the University of North Texas. The students had the opportunity to tour the campus, listen to admissions counselors, and get a first hand view of dorm life. The experience was the first time that 59 of the students have been on an actual college campus. Many of the students declared that UNT is one of their top three choices for college after the visit.
The students previously visited Texas A&M Commerce and Baylor College of Dentistry.
Hill Collects Water for Sandbranch
Hill's Community Service Project ends Friday May 13. The school is collecting cases of water for the community of Sandbranch in Southeast Dallas.Our goal is 200 cases. Please support our cause by bringing water to the main office.

Contract Information
Human Capital Management is preparing to disseminate contracts for the 2016-2017 school year. Contracts will be available for all contract-eligible employees via Oracle Employee Self Service by early May. Please expect an email from notifications@dallasisd.org containing instructions on how to complete the acceptance process once contracts are available. Employees will have two weeks to provide an electronic signature.
According to Texas Education Code, contract eligible employees wishing to resign must do so 45 days before the first instructional day of the school year. The deadline for the 2016-17 school year is July 8, 2016.

Reinhardt Poets Recognized
Three budding poets, Juleidey Bobadillam Yamilet Cano and Giovanni Gonzalez, are finalist and were published in the Dallas Public Library Express Yourself Youth Poetry Competition. The contest received more than a 1,000 poems from students in grades 2nd - 12th that demonstrated original poetic expressions and creativity. The students and their families were publicly recognized at a special awards ceremony and luncheon at the main Library Branch downtown.

For the Summer Achievers Program, the flyers have arrived at your campuses. The online application window opens April 19 and students will be accepted on a first come-first serve basis AND the program is being offered at a limited number of campuses around the district. Please send these flyers home and communicate with parents as to how to apply. You will also want to offer assistance if they need help with this process.
Mr. Hussein will serve as the Summer School Principal at Bryan Adams High School for credit recovery. Joining Bryan Adams students will be students from Woodrow Wilson.
Mr. Wolcott will serve as the Summer School Principal At Reilly for the Summer Achievers Program.

In May, teachers will verify their rosters in order to verify the students will be included in the calculation of their student achievement results.
MAY 19th is the last day that administrators can score the SLO Goal Accomplishment for teachers. Please plan with your teachers to ensure that they enter appropriate information in a timely manner so that this goal can be met.
MAY 19th is also the last day to enter extended observations and summatives in schoolnet.
May 23-June 6 will be the teacher rebuttal window in oracle for summative performance evaluations.
June 2 is the last day to conduct spot observations and the last day to hold the summative conferences.
