Bethel Springs Elementary School
September 9, 2019
Thank You for Your Support at Back to School Nights!
Urgent Reminder for Parents!
Please access the SNAP Parent Health Portal to complete the online EMERGENCY CARD.
We cannot stress enough how crucial this information may be during the course of the school year, so please be very thorough in completing this card. Please pay particular attention to the medication section and indicate which of the over-the-counter medications listed you are giving consent to be given to your child during the school day. The school nurse cannot administer any OTC medications (e.g. Tylenol. Tums, throat lozenges, etc.) without your consent.
Parents and legal guardians that have an email address in Alma should have received their secured login credentials to the SNAP Health Portal. The email came from noreply@studentehr.com. Please check your spam folder if you do not remember seeing this notice. Once you log into the SNAP system, please update your child's health information (as needed), including the medication consent section.
- If you have trouble logging in to the system, please contact Patty Lafferty at patty@garnetvalley.org.

Important Updates From Our Home and School Association
VOLUNTEERS WANTED - Homeroom Parent/Classroom Photographer: Thank you to everyone who has applied for these positions so far! We are looking a little short volunteer-wise in some classrooms (Guidetti, Moschella, Silicato, Uniacke, Brennan, Shaffer, Quindlen, and Reid), so if you were on the fence about applying, this may help guide your decision :). To learn more or apply, please check out this FORM. Responses will be collected until Friday, September 13th, and notifications will be distributed during the week of September 16th. If you have any questions, please contact bseshsa@gmail.com.
HSA DONATION DRIVE: Not a big fan of fundraisers? Well, you’re in luck! Check out this LETTER, which should have come during the first week of school, detailing the BSES HSA Donation Drive. If you are interested in supporting the drive, please send a check written out to BSES HSA back to school with your student in the provided envelope. Donations can also be made via MySchoolBucks. Please contact bseshsa@gmail.com with any questions.
REMINDERS ABOUT ONGOING FUNDRAISERS:
Amazon Smile: While you’re shopping online, don’t forget that BSES participates in Amazon Smile! Navigate to https://smile.amazon.com/, and select Bethel Springs Elementary School as your charity of choice. When you shop at Amazon Smile, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection, and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization (aka-BSES HSA, right?!). As of August 2019, BSES HSA has received over $340 from Amazon Smile since its registration in the program, and it’s pretty much minimal effort for anyone who uses Amazon to shop.
Box Tops for Education - BIG CHANGES!! The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school! Going forward, instead of clipping from packages, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipts using the Box Tops mobile app, which is available from the Apple Store or Google Play. For more information, check out this LETTER or head to BTFE.com. And not to worry about the Box Tops you have already clipped and collected over the summer - stay tuned for more information about how those can still be submitted later in the year. (WHEW!)
Shoparoo: And while you’re scanning receipts for Box Tops, might as well get the most bang for your buck by also scanning them using the Shoparoo app! If you are not familiar with Shoparoo, which is available from the Apple Store or Google Play, families can use the app to scan and upload receipts from grocery stores, restaurants, and retail stores. Bethel Springs earns points for each receipt uploaded (think Acme, Giant, Wegmans, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Target, Walmart, BJs, Costco, etc), and participants can track who is leading with the most points in the school and in their grade for a friendly competitive bonus. Please visit www.shoparoo.com to learn more about this hassle-free fundraiser.
Giant - A+ School Rewards: A+ School Rewards are points that BSES earns with each purchase made using Giant Card. Register your my Giant Card and help BSES earn A+ School Rewards. Please go to https://giantfood.com/member-benefits/ to register your card.
