Back to School Edition
First Day of School
If your house is anything like mine, anticipation for the first day of school abounds! We look forward to seeing all the new and returning faces on Monday!
Friendly reminder, especially for our 5th grade students and their families, that our Upper School gates open at 7:45 with the bell at 8:10.
Monday, July 17th:
K-8 Community Time starts at 8:25am in the MPR on the K-5 campus
- Grades 5-8, gates open 7:45am, first bell at 8:10am
- Grades K-4, gates open 8:00am, first bell at 8:24am

Lunch starts WEDNESDAY of the FIRST WEEK and ONLINE ordering!
When you fill out the form below, you should receive an email with a confirmation of the lunches you've ordered (if you don't, please let BJ know). As of right now, you'll still need to send in a paper check or cash to pay for your lunches by next Friday. You will need to fill out a different form for each student, just like with the paper copies, but you can send in one payment.
Remember that we LOVE to have parents and other family members join us for lunches, we just ask that you order ahead, as well, by filling out a form for yourself and sending in payment.
Please be patient with us as we work out all the kinks. Your feedback is welcome as we try this new process.
To sign up for one or more dates/time slots, please visit our Doodle poll below. You may wish to add the doodle.com domain to your safe senders list. Creating a Doodle account is not necessary, but you may wish to. For those familiar with Doodle, it may look a little different than it used to.
We normally look to staff one morning Prep shift (8:30a-10:30a), and two shifts for Server/Clean-up. These are posted as slightly different times on Doodle to prevent the data from conflicting with itself. Regardless of the published end time, please be prepared to stay until the clean-up is done.

Please get your check or cash for $30 per student to Gianni by the first day of school so teachers can purchase supplies to start the year off right.
No more huge paper packets to fill out every year! The new online registration process should take less than 5-10 minutes per child to update their information.
To get started: Log into your PowerSchool parent account, and click the button on the lower left hand side that says “Returning Student Annual Registration.” https://ps.vail.k12.az.us/public/ Your login is your last name with your first initial. If you don't remember your password, you should be able to set it from there.
Information soon on the start date for after school HW Club. We know it will not run the first week of school. Dismissal at 3:00pm for all students, K-8.
"Go for it" Pile:
As with any fresh start, all the classrooms and office have cleared out gently used contents that are no longer needed. There is a table stacked with items next to the lego table on the K-4 side. This table is open for families to look through this week only, Monday through Wednesday. The items will be donated on Wednesday after school. We will not have it open for students to look through on their own during the school day.
- Child appropriate old magazines or catalogs
- *Top secret* Working or non-working remote control robotic toys that the upper school can dissect.
