Career Information
Transportation, Storage and Distribution Managers
The safe and efficient storage, transport and distribution of goods and products is vital to the national well being. While higher education is generally not mandated, management positions in this industry call for some years of appropriate work experience.
They're all responsible for analyzing costs, developing budgets and complying with government regulations. They must negotiate with equipment dealers, transportation service workers and end-users to find optimal service while keeping costs within budget constraints. Transportation, storage and distribution managers also hire and train personnel. They design policies and procedures that improve safety and efficiency.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in May 2018 that distribution, transportation and storage managers earned $94,730 as a median annual wage. The lowest-paid workers earned $56,050 or less annually, and the highest-paid workers earned $158,370 or more yearly in 2018.

Parenting Teens
Detangling Teen Depression
Currently, 59% more teens are reporting depression symptoms than they did in 2011. Now, somewhere around 19% of girls ages 12 to 17 will experience a depression episode in a given year and about 6% of boys. As a doctor how do I interpret this data and what does that mean in our digital age?
Currently, only three states in the country require their schools to teach about mental health. New York and Virginia were the first two states to pass laws, and that was just in 2018. Teachers and students are trying to change this by doing things like starting mental health clubs.
One of the central goals I have in my work is to help parents find ways to better give health knowledge and science literacy skills to their kids and teens. I want to help you by sharing what medical providers use to help identify symptoms of depression.
