Friends and Fun Night
Our annual Friends and Fun Night is back this year! We are planning a night of fun for the students at Oakview on Friday, January 28, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. From basketball in the gym to dancing in the cafeteria, students will be brought together to spend time with their friends and just hang out. We are in need of volunteers to help make this happen for our students. Please review the below slots and sign up if you're able to. Thanks, Oakview PTO

Reminders as we Start 3rd Quarter
- Cell phones (and earbuds!) - students are not allowed to use cell phones during class unless a teacher asks them to pull it out for an activity. Messages to or from home should go through our office. We promise do deliver your messages to your student! The cell phones are a huge distraction to instruction and we would love your help in reminding kids we have plenty to keep them busy - SnapChat, Insta, nor the Twitters are not needed during the school day! :)
- Tardies to class - students have plenty of time between class to get their things and get to the next class on time. There has been an unusual amount of students congregating in the locker pods or walking friends to their classes before returning to their own. Help us remind students that it's important to be on time - punctuality is an important life skill!
- Bus Behavior - students need to wear their masks, stay in their seat and use appropriate language. We are just trying to get kids home safely! Students causing distractions like above may lose the privilege of riding the bus (and nobody wants that!).
- Dress Code - while respecting the individuality of students, we do have expectations about student dress. We remind students just like they know what to wear to weddings and funerals, they need to know what to wear (or not wear!) to Oakview. A quick reminder for dress code can be found at this link. A full copy of the Middle School Handbook is also available with full description.
From the Oakview PTO
- 8th Grade Celebration Committee meets next on February 14, 7:00 p.m. at the Orion Township Library, hope to see any parents interested in lending a hand there!
- Save the Date! March 13, Sunday Funday Event for the whole family at Collier Lanes. More information to come!
- Check out the PTO pages on Facebook and Instagram - helpful updates will be available throughout the school year. Be sure to follow and keep connected.
