Nutrition Diva: How to overhaul your diet
Strategies on how to overhaul your diet:
1. Building a healthy diet is an ongoing process, not just a quick decision
2. Trying to change everything at once is likely to backfire on you
3. Some things are more important than others
Step 1:
-Eliminate ALL refined sugar: sodas, sweetened beverages, etc. One thing about the typical American diet that is doing more damage than any other one thing, is refined sugar.
-These drinks don't offer any nutritional value and don't make you feel any more full than water
Step 2:
-Eat more fruits and vegetables
-When you commit to eating at least 5 servings of vegies and at least 2 servings of fruit, you'll be surprised on how little room there is left
Step 3:
-Shift away from ALL processed foods: cans, boxes, restaurants etc.
-Home cooked meals can cut salts, calories and sugars
-Even though there is a necessity due to our busy lives, we can make healthier choices in packaged foods if we absolutely need to
Last two steps:
1. Avoid hydrogenated fats found in processed foods, restaurants, found in deep friend foods, butter...Although there are good fats such as olive oil or coconut oil, she recommends sticking to olive oil
2. Limit refined grains: Eat all grains in moderation

3 ways to get cheaper gym memberships:
1. Ask for the joining fee to be waived
2. Commit to a long term membership-lower monthly price for longer contract
3. Set up a biding war-bring the gym you want to join a price to match from a different gym
Affordable home-gym equipment:
1. Headband earphones - portable, convenient, pay attention to surroundings
2. Elastic tubing
3. Dumbbells
4. Stability ball-crunches, situps
5. Mat
6. Foam roller
7. Jump rope
*If you have no money for ANY gym equipment you can easily run, walk, lunge, squat, etc., in a park or backyard*
Money saving workout:
1. Circuit (3-5x)
-25-50 jumping jacks
-10-15 push ups
-25-50 jumping jacks
-10-15 reps of squat exercise
-25-50 jumping jacks
-10-15 reps of sit up exercises
