Born in 1980 in Salinas, California, Jodi Arias made headlines when she was charged with murdering her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in 2008. He had been shot in the head and stabbed more than two dozen times, and his throat had been slit from ear to ear. When Arias was convicted of first-degree murder on May 8, 2013 and sentenced to natural life in state prison on April 13, 2015.

Jodi Arias' life will now fit in a 7 foot x 12 foot cell, a small room where she will have to stay for 23-hours a day. Arias will be allowed outside six hours a week, but it’s up to prison staff whether that is spread out daily or in longer time blocks every other day.
