Summer Reading - Ugh!

Prevent the Summer Set-Back.

Reasons to read this summer!

  1. To visit places that you can't afford to personally go.
  2. To sit in the shade and escape the hot sun.
  3. To make that long car ride while on vacation bearable.
  4. To escape from those pesky siblings that want your attention all the time.
  5. For Fun!

Now seriously- The Summer Set back...may contribute to as much as 85% of the reaching achievement gap (Allington, 2009). So how does that happen. When a student does not continue to read during the summer months, the summer set back begins. Are we asking you to read every free second of the day? No, just take twenty minutes a day and read something you want to read.
