The Mustang Minute
December 1, 2017 - Issue 14
The Most "busiest" Time of the Year
As I write this title, I am hoping that most of our parents can reference the holiday song and are not thinking I am incapable of correct grammar! But it is true, I can think of no other time of the year where we are pulled in so many different directions in such a short time span.
Life here at CMS is no different. We ended right before the break with a school wide team building activity of creating team motto's and adding them to shirts that will be tye dyed later this week. A big thank you to the PTO for the generous shirt donation and to Ms. Harding, Ms. Tanquary, and Ms. Rodriguez who organized the tye dyeing itself! These shirts will be worn to show team solidarity during the National Geography Bee that occurs at the end of December.
Additionally, on Tuesday night we held the National Junior Honor Society induction ceremony which was amazing! So many students with so many great accomplishments!
On December 4th, we have the PTO McDonald's fundraiser where from 5-8 pm 20% of all proceeds will be donated to the CMS PTO and you can be served by some CMS special guests working behind the counter.
Over the following two weeks we have the holiday concerts. The grade 7/8 Choral concert will be on December 14th and the 7/8 Instrumental concert will be on the 19th. The grade 6 performance will be on January 11th.
Add to this all family and non-school activities and it's amazing that we have time to breath. So make sure you take those moments to rest, relax, and spend quiet time with the family as well. This helps to keep us all in a good frame of mind during this busy time period!
