Dryden Care Closet
Students who struggle with un-met basic needs are more likely to also struggle academically and socially. The Good Neighbors Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Arlington Heights, provides assistance to under-resourced community members, and works to meet the needs of local families through donations and partnerships. They have given Dryden non-perishable snacks, personal hygiene items such as deodorant, lip balm, lotion, soap, tissues, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and reusable water bottles. This free resource is available to any Dryden family who could use help getting these basic needs met. Students and families can access basic items confidentially and without judgment. Please contact Social Worker Caroline Sorrentino (csorrentino@sd25.org) if you could use any of these items and we can make an appointment for you to come in and “shop” or send items home with your student(s).
Friday FLIPS
The Dryden staff is on the lookout for students going above and beyond in big and small ways to make a positive impact on their school community. These Dolphin sightings are recognized during the morning announcements on Fridays. The students below were recognized for exemplifying the Dryden Dolphin Do's of being CARING, RESPONSIBLE and SAFE. Stay tuned for updates on these awesome Dolphin sightings and Friday Flips!

Winter Wonderland / Pajama Day - December 22
We look forward to celebrating the start of winter break with a favorite event, Winter Wonderland! Please note it will be held on Thursday, December 22. This year students will be creating snowman lanterns, enjoying games, and completing STEM activities. The students will be using marshmallows in one of the activities. Please let us know if your child has an allergy so we can find an alternative. The Sign Up Genius for volunteers for this event, will go out Monday, December 12 at 7:00 pm.
4th Grade Musical Performance - December 20
The 4th Grade Musical is happening this month! The Dryden PTA will be assisting Mr Deptula with volunteers for the musical. 4th grade parents are welcome to volunteer at the rehearsals. We would love to let the 4th grade parents sit back and relax during their child's performance, so we hope to have other volunteers for the night of the performance. Please sign up here.
If parents of 4th grade students would like to sit in the front row or have a front row parking spot they can bid on the items at our Rock Star Treatment Auction! If you have any questions please contact our Musical Chairs, Nikki Mather mathfam4@gmail.com or Jen Kim jbelkim@gmail.com.
