Principal's Update 2/16/18
Safe and Prepared
We are all aware of the recent national events and are reminded of the importance of safety in our communities and schools. We conduct practice drills at school to help staff and students know what to do in the event of any type of emergency. We will be practicing our procedures on Wednesday, February 21st.
Bluebonnet Books
Thank you to Mrs. Kupersztoch and Mrs. Armantrout along with their team of volunteers for the Bluebonnet Breakfast celebrations this morning for 3rd-5th grade students who participated in the program.
Julie Carullo Paraprofessional of the Year!
Congratulations to Julie Carullo, Records and Attendance Specialist, for being selected by our staff as the England Paraprofessional of the Year. You all see Mrs. Carullo's welcoming smile whenever you visit the front office at Elsa England. She's in charge of making sure our daily attendance is correctly recorded, registering new students, and tracking down student academic records from all over the world. Mrs. Carullo also assists with many other miscellaneous duties needed to help our school run efficiently. Mrs. Carullo's caring nature, love for children, and sincerity make her a perfect fit for our elementary school. We treasure you Mrs. Carullo!
Cedar Valley Parent Meeting
On Monday, February 26th there will be a parent information meeting for parents of current 5th grade students who will be attending Cedar Valley next year. The meeting will be held in the Cedar Valley Cafeteria from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Course requirements and elective choices will be reviewed along with other information about Cedar Valley and sixth grade. There will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions.
Flu Season Reminders
It's not over yet! Flu is still wide-spread in our community, and more cases were confirmed with students and staff this week. Please keep your children home if they are sick. Children should not be in school unless they've been fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
