Jackson Elementary Weekly Update
May 15, 2020 #GreatestSchoolonEarth
From Mrs. Cliburn:
The end of this school year is here and although it did not end as any of us would have wished, over all we have had a great year. Your students have grown and learned, experienced fun activities, field trips, class parties, and built relationships which will last a lifetime.
We ended this school year stretching ourselves and growing in many ways. Thank you for your support at you helped your children finish off the end of the year at home. You have contributed to their growth and success in so many ways. As we ease into summer vacation, please know we are all still here for you. You may reach out to me, Mr. Braly, Mr. Wilson or your child's teacher at any time. We will continue to support you.
And speaking of support, we truly appreciate all the many ways that our families reached out to support our teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week on May 4-8. You can watch a video that PTA compiled from many of our families here. Your support means so much, and we truly appreciate our amazing school community.
To our 5th Grade students, we hope you enjoyed your Drive Thru Celebration on Wednesday and will enjoy your class promotion and awards presentation on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:00. The Jackson faculty and staff join me in wishing you the best as you head off to middle school! We know you are prepared and ready, and we cannot wait to see where the future takes you. Please know you will always be a Jackson Tiger and we look forward to seeing you back in our halls as often as you can!
To our returning students, we cannot wait to see you in person! When we return to school we will welcome you with open arms and a big celebration. Enjoy your summer, keep READING, and remember that all of the online resources will be available throughout the summer for you to enjoy.
Wishing you the best for a safe and healthy summer!
Continue to stay safe and healthy,
Jill

From Norman Public Schools
Please note the following important information from NPS:
- Meal Service: To serve our students who are in need of food, we will continue our weekly meal service. Parents are encouraged to complete student meal order forms each week, which are available at www.normanpublicschools.org/meals. Order forms help our child nutrition teams plan adequate meals for each school and are posted on the website every Friday for the following week. Please note that meals will not be distributed on Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 25. Rather, meals will be available for pickup Tuesday, May 26, and Wednesday, May 27 of that week.
- Enrollment Verification: To help our schools prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, please complete an Information and Verification Form for each child in your home who is currently attending Norman Public Schools. These forms are due May 20 and can be found at www.normanpublicschools.org/enrollment.
- NPS ExpandED: As a result of Covid-19, many families find themselves in circumstances that require greater flexibility. If you are thinking about transitioning your child to an online school, be sure to consider NPS ExpandED. This is our district’s rigorous education solution designed to provide students with the flexibility to complete coursework outside of traditional school buildings and also participate in extracurricular activities. More information is available at www.normanpublicschools.org/expanded.
