Kindergarten Update
February is such a short month in Kindergarten! The children will be very busy writing and sending Valentines to their peers. This is a great time to teach your child about the mail system, and show them first hand how it works.
The 100th Day Celebration will be coming up in Feb. Each day the Kindergarten classes count how many days we have attended school until we reach 100! We are also practicing counting to 100 by 1’s and 10’s. Please reinforce this skill at home so that your child can become a part of the “100 Club” in Kindergarten! It is amazing how quickly they learn how to count.
February is also Dental Health month and we will celebrate President’s Day as well. We will be focusing on mastering all of the sight words and continuing Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, as well as addition facts in math lessons.
Please be sure to continue to review: rhyming, beginning, middle, and ending sounds, writing, and the math facts to 5. Keep up the great work!
Children should continue to complete their homework on a weekly basis to review and prepare them for first grade. This is an exciting time of the year where they are reading on their own and excel very quickly. Thanks for all that you do!
Warmest Wishes,
Mrs. Johnson
Mrs. Howk

Hello Second Grade Families,
Can you believe it’s the middle of February already? One very important thing you can do to help us out is to ask your student about their school supplies. Very often, this time of year, we are scrounging for pencils and crayons.
We have been spending quality time opinion writing. Ask your student about their favorite book, character, or part of a book. It’s always interesting to read and listen to their point of view.
We also continue to work on many Reading skills. Is your student reading for at least 20 minutes every night?
In Math the students have been working hard learning about two and three-digit, addition and subtraction. The words of the past few weeks have been compose and decompose, bundle and unbundle.
We are all looking forward to the weather getting a little bit warmer and being able to spend more time outside getting the wiggles out.
As always, if you need anything from us, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Mr. Armenio
Ms. Bresnahan

Vinny Montesi took part in the Saratoga -Warren County Music Educator's Association 2018 All County Festival at Hudson Falls High School. He was selected to participate in the 5/6 Elementary Choir, joining 95 other students, under the direction of Ms. Lynette McGovern, guest conductor. The children did a wonderful job performing the rousing "Rhythms of One World" by Gary Fry, "For the Beauty of the Earth", by John Rutter and "Give Us Hope" by Jim Papoulis. The brought down the house with their finale "It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't got that Swing", by the legendary Duke Ellington. Congratulations, Vinny!
