Leadership Prep Closure Update
COVID-19 Closure Update
LPS Community,
As we continue to monitor Covid-19, please know that we are assessing the situation closely and I am in daily communication with the Education Commissioner to make the best decisions we can. In the interest of the health and safety of our students, staff and our local community, we are extending our school closure to include next week, March 23-27. In addition to this, all extracurricular school events will be cancelled until further notice.
The situation is evolving daily and we will communicate frequently. You will be receiving communication tomorrow March 17th from your campus administration regarding the plans for online education of LPS students for the remainder of this week and next.
As LPS works to communicate timely information to parents and staff during this period of school closure, we encourage you to ensure you are receiving text messages. The school utilizes the School Messenger system to deliver text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more. You may recognize the School Messenger name as the system that currently sends emails and phone calls. If you are not currently receiving text messages from 60680, please contact your campus administrator.
All STAAR tests and End Of Course exams have been waived by the Governor for this school year.
Take care of yourselves and your families as we work to navigate this event that is unprecedented in our post-modern world. Though we are practicing social distancing in the physical sense of the word, this is where we come together as a community to support one another.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership!
Stacy Alton
