I would like to thank all the parents for following and assisting in the new traffic pattern at E. C. Glass in the mornings. It truly means a lot as we work to increase safety during that time for our students, staff, and families. I'm also compelled to say, I am sorry that convenience outweighs safety for some of our Glass families during our morning arrival with our morning drivers and drop off procedures. We will continue to work on ideas and plans in this area to improve it. Best wishes and good luck to all of our students SOL and AP testing in the next couple of weeks. Just remember that you have been working hard and you got this!
Thank you,
Jeff

Nurse News
"Hello from the ECG clinic!
Parents, please note that cell phone usage is strictly prohibited in the ECG Clinic. Health information is confidential and should be kept that way. Students are to please remove headphones and place phones out of sight before entering the clinic. Any student caught holding or using a cellphone while in the clinic for any reason, at any time without express permission from the nurse will be asked to leave. Thank you for your help and understanding with protecting the privacy and health information of your student and anyone else in the clinic.
Yearly wellness(check-ups) visits are strongly encouraged and most insurance companies will pay for a yearly wellness visit. If your student has a health condition such as diabetes, seizures, asthma, anaphylaxis reactions, or migraines; they are required to have an annual action plan on file in the clinic. These forms must be renewed yearly. With the end of the year fast approaching, please reach out to the nurse or have your student stop by the clinic to obtain the appropriate action plan form so that you can have it on hand when your student goes for their yearly physical/check-up and be prepared for the next school year. Also, if your student needs to take any medication during the school day, we are required to have an LCS parent/physician authorization to administer medication form on file in the clinic. These forms are also required to be renewed annually. Reminder-all medication must be brought to school by the parent/guardian, counted in by the nurse WITH the parent/guardian present, and kept in the clinic. Getting prepared now will help avoid the chaos of the new school year rush for everyone (parents, students, medical providers, school staff, etc.,)

Hospitality Committee
Calling all parents interested in helping make our
teachers and staff feel appreciated!
Recently it has come to the attention of a few parents that since we lost our PTO, our teachers and staff appreciation gestures have gone by the wayside. We would like to bring this back! A new committee has been created at EC Glass to provide support and kindness to the people who are consistently making a difference in the lives of your children each and every day. This Hospitality Committee will do a few things throughout the year- a Fall luncheon, a Holiday breakfast and a Spring Appreciation Luncheon. We will also continue to stock the lounges with K Cups, sugar, creamer and any extra treats you may want to add. We will also directly support the Sunshine Committee. “The Sunshine Committee is run by faculty and staff for faculty and staff. It is a committee designed to help boost moral and school spirit. We like to offer upbeat ways to bring a little light to our faculty and staff through small gestures like staff appreciation meals and events. We like to bring faculty and staff together in order to help form lasting friendships as well as a positive working atmosphere.” (Karen Lynch) We feel that by supporting the Sunshine Committee and bringing back these appreciation events, we will directly impact our teachers and staff in a positive way. And happy teachers equals happy kids! We will be sending out Sign Ups for these various items in the near future. Please look out for them and share this information with your friends. The more people we have supporting this cause, the easier it will be to make the biggest impact. Thank you in advance for all of your support.
Sincerely,
Jane Rennyson (jsrennyson@gmail.com and Denise Palys (dpalys@comcast.net)
