The last football game of the season is this Friday night against Grissom. Friday's game will be played at Alabama A&M at 7 p.m. Let's take a big crowd right down the road for this one!

State Volleyball Tournament Information
*Go fan tickets need to be purchased prior to getting to the Crossplex. Due to the number of fans, reception will be poor at the Crossplex.
*Everyone must wear a mask when entering the building. Coverings must be worn at all times. They will not be provided. If you show up without one, you will not be allowed inside the building.
*Parking is $5.
*Standing along the rails of the grandstands will not be allowed.
*Tickets can ONLY be purchased on GoFan. Click on the link below to purchase.

Other Reminders:
*Tuesday will be a full-day excused absence for students who ride the pep bus AND car riders who return a picture of their GoFan ticket to the Attendance Office on Wednesday, 10/27. Print first and last name on ticket.
*The pep bus will leave at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, 10/26, and will return after the 10:30 a.m. game. Students riding the pep bus should report to the regular bus drop-off area Tuesday morning by 8:10 a.m.
*Pep bus riders should bring money for concessions. The buses will not be stopping for food.
Students who ride the pep bus to the game MUST ride the pep bus back to the school, NO EXCEPTIONS.
PSAT Reminders for Tomorrow
If you are signed up to take the PSAT on Tuesday, October 26, please report directly to the JROTC wing (next to the main gym) for testing when the 8:23 bell rings on Tuesday.
Testing Rooms:
10th graders with last names A-M will report to the JROTC Classroom.
10th graders with last names N-Z and ALL 11th graders who are testing will report to the JROTC Shooting Range.
What to Bring
Please bring a calculator and standard #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils). You may bring a snack if you would like.

What NOT to Bring
Please remember that digital devices including, but not limited to, cell phones and smart watches will NOT be allowed in the testing rooms. These items, along with backpacks, purses, etc. will be stored outside the testing room.
NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS
Full Moon Party POSTPONED
HG Theatre and Choral Departments have made the decision to POSTPONE the Full Moon Party until Thursday, November 4th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Trojan Courtyard. These new plans were discussed in class today.
HOSA Meeting
There will be a HOSA meeting Wednesday morning before school. Students should report to Mrs. Thomson's room as soon as their buses arrive or at 8 a.m. if they drive to school.
NJROTC Weekly

The HGHS Engineering classes need help from all Instagram users. This year’s topic is a research mission to the moon. Since the class cannot go out into the community for projects, the class is reporting their events on Instagram and reporting their monthly outreach analytics. CURRENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Softball Fundraiser: The softball team is having the annual Boston Butt sale on Saturday, October 30th. Pickup is 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the softball field. If you would like to purchase a Boston Butt, please see Coach Henson or a softball player. The price is $40. Thank you for supporting the softball team, our 2021 STATE CHAMPIONS!
No Outside Food: We want to remind parents and students that no outside food is allowed at school. Please do not stop by with food from a restaurant.
Important Check-Out Reminder: Please remember that we do not allow walk-in check outs after 3:00 p.m.
ASVAB: The ASVAB will be given at Hazel Green High School on Thursday, November 4, from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who want to take the ASVAB may sign up at ASVAB Registration as soon as possible. Please contact 1stSgt Schultz if you have any questions.
Trojanette Fundraiser: The Trojanettes Dance Team is selling Nothing Bundt Cakes for the holiday season. These cakes are fresh 5 days refrigerated, 3 days room temp, or frozen for up to a month.
To purchase, see any of our Trojanettes or Ms. Kuykendall in N213. Orders and payment are due by November 7th.

Track Tryouts:
- Tryouts for indoor track have been moved to November 9th - 11th at the HG track from 3:45 to 5:30.
- Tryouts for outdoor track are still January 10th - 12th at the HG track from 3:45 to 5:30.
*You must have an up-to-date physical to try out.
Reindeer Dash 5K: HGHS's annual Reindeer Dash will take place on December 18th, with the 5k starting at 8 a.m. and a fun run immediately after.
The cost to run the 5k is $25, which includes a race day t-shirt.

Online Application for Free/Reduced Meals: Online free and reduced meal applications are available at the link below for a faster, more confidential way to apply. A new application must be completed each school year to qualify for free or reduced meals. Your child's eligibility status carries over to the new school year for the first 30 school days, allowing parents time to re-apply. Only one application per household should be submitted, and everyone living in the house must be included on the application.

Subscriptions are $9.99 a month (can be renewed monthly) or $69.99 a year (renewed annually).
Great for family or friends who cannot attend events or those who live a distance away.
Check-Out Procedures:
*Please go to door #44 at the back of the school (near the Trojan statue and courtyard) for all check outs. No check outs are done through the front office. Remembering this will save you some time when you arrive to check out your student.
- Students drop check-out notes in the basket on the attendance clerk’s desk before 8:30 in the morning.
- Notes will be verified by the attendance clerk prior to the time of check-out.
- Check-out notes need the following information:
- Student’s first and last name (printed)
- Time of check-out
- Reason for check-out
- Parent’s signature
- Parent’s contact information
Without a parent note, no student will be allowed to check out unless a parent/guardian comes to the Attendance Office to check out the student. Parent notes must be turned in to the Attendance Office before 8:30 a.m. No phone or email checkouts will be allowed. The only exception will be if the school nurse determines that a student is sick and needs to go home. The school nurse will then contact the parent/guardian and the Attendance Office.
*No walk-in check outs after 3 p.m.
