Building and Assessing Fact Fluency - Proficiency in PJs with Gina Kling
Proficiency in PJs was such a hit that Oakland Schools is repeating the session.

STATE AND NATIONAL LEARNING AND COLLABORATION
Creating Independent Learners Through Culturally Responsive Teaching
Join Student Achievement Partners and NBTS to learn how to integrate culturally responsive teaching practices through building awareness and knowledge. Using Zaretta Hammond’s framework, participants will learn how to create learning partnerships that will increase brain capacity in their students. Participants will leave with a working knowledge of how to establish an authentic connection with students that builds mutual trust and respect within virtual and in-person instruction.

Research Study: Teaching CMP in a Digital Environment
The robust digital collaborative platform designed specifically for CMP teaching and learning works in face-to-face, virtual, or hybrid classrooms. Participate in a research study of a new approach to help middle school mathematics students and teachers collaborate in a digital environment.

Reviewers needed for PAEMST Award Cycle
Reviewers are needed to evaluate PAEMST applications.
- individual reviews take place during the month of April
- all reviewers for mathematics and science will meet to discuss applications and assign final scores to each application in their chosen content area.
- time commitment will vary based on the number of reviewers and number of applications received. The state selection meeting usually lasts most of a day.
- Stipends are available
- activities will take place remotely, in a virtual format.
- Additional information, including the state selection meeting date and time, will be determined based on the availability of reviewers.

Supporting Summer Mathematics Interventions Grades 1-7

Tri-County Culturally Responsive Mathematics Institute
This speaker series provides opportunities for math teachers across Wayne, Washtenaw, and Oakland Counties to learn how to engage all students in meaningful culturally responsive mathematics increasing engagement and relevance for all students. The series seeks to:
- develop a shared understanding of culturally responsive mathematics instruction,
- explore ideas of how to nurture and develop students’ mathematical identities, and
- learn how to enhance/transform current mathematics practice to become more culturally responsive.

Code.org CS Professional Learning Opportunity - Apply Today!
Through a partnership with Code.org, this high quality professional learning prepares educators to teach computer science at their district. This is an awesome opportunity to dive into Code.org’s curriculum resources, develop your computer science skills, and learn best practices when teaching CS. This nine day professional learning series equips educators with the ability to teach a middle school computer science course or AP Computer Science Principles for high school students.
Dates: Two Options for Virtual Summer Workshop
