Counselor's Corner
Hello Mustang Families-
This month we are learning about the character trait of RESPECT. Respect is defined by PurposFull People as, “seeing good in people and things (and treating them with care).” What does it mean to “see good” in people? In order to see the good in others, we must take the time to learn who they are and where they came from. When we take time to learn why people believe the things they do and why they act the way they do, we develop a deeper understanding of people and can show respect by our actions and words.
Family Chatter:
Take a few minutes to ask your child the following questions:
· How does Respect look, sound, and feel at school? How about at a sporting event? In a group or organization? At home? How about when you’re angry? When you’re frustrated? Struggling?
· Do you have to like a person in order to be respectful? Or, can you be respectful to someone even if you don’t particularly care for or agree with them?
